Chandrakanta


Greengram (moong dal)		1 cup
Sugar				1 cup
Rice				1 tsp
Cardamom powder			1 tsp
Ghee/margarine			2 tbsp
Oil 				To fry

  1. Soak the moong dal and rice for atleast 2 hours. Drain and grind coarsely.
  2. Add sugar in one cup of water and make 2 layer syrup.
  3. Add the ground paste to the syrup and fry in a low flame stirring continuously till it becomes thick. Add ghee. Once it starts leaving oil in the sides and becomes like a lump, add cardamom powder and remove it from the fire.
  4. Grease a flat plate and transfer the paste to the plate and flaten it to 1/2" thickness.
  5. Once it is cold, cut into small diamond pieces.
  6. Heat oil in a fry pan. Once the oil is hot enough, fry the diamond pieces until they are crispy.
  7. Store in air-tight container.
