Masala Vada


Channa dal			1 cup
Turdal				1 tbsp
Rice				1/2 tsp
Onion chopped			1
Red chillies			3
Mint leaves  chopped		2 tbsp
Curry leaves			few
Aniseeds(saunf)ground		1/2 tsp
Asafoetida			1/2 tsp
Oil				For frying						
Salt 				To taste



  1. Soak channa dal, rice and tur dal for 2 hours. Drain water. Add dry red chillies, salt and asafoetida and grind coarsely without adding water.
  2. Add salt, chopped onion, mint leaves, curry leaves, aniseeds and mix thoroughly.
  3. Heat oil in a fry pan. Make small balls with the dal and press with your palm and deep fry in the oil till they are crisp.
