Mushroom Korma


Mushrooms			100 gms
Poppy seeds(Khas Khas)		2 tbsp
Coriander seeds			1 tbsp
Cumin seeds			1/2 tsp
Ginger paste			1 tsp
Cloves				4 nos
Cinnamon			1" stick
Aniseed(saunf)			1/2 tsp
Cardamom			2 nos
Turmeric			1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder		1 tsp
Onion				1 big
Tomatoes			2 big
Oil				5 tbsp
Salt				To taste


  1. Wash mushrooms thoroughly. Slice into halves and keep aside.
  2. Grind coriander seeds, cumin seeds, aniseeds, poppy seeds, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom into powder and keep aside.
  3. Make ginger, garlic, onion and tomato into paste.
  4. Mix mushrooms with all of the above and red chilli powder, turmeric and salt to taste.
  5. Heat oil in a fry pan and add the mushrooms with the masalas. Stir for two minutes.
  6. Add about 1 1/2 cups of water. Lower heat and let it cook for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Goes well with rice/chapatis.
  8. Sprinkle cumin seed powder and remove from heat.
  9. Goes well with rice and/or paratha.
