Okra Fry


Okra				375 gms
Onion				1 large
Crushed garlic			1 tsp
Red chilli powder		1 tsp
Yogurt/curd			1/3 cup
Green chillies			2
Turmeric powder			1/4 tsp
Oil				3 tbsp
Salt				To taste


  1. Cut the okra 1" pieces lengthwise.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add finely chopped onion and fry until light brown.
  3. Add garlic and fry for a minute.
  4. Now add chopped okra and sliced green chillies. Fry on high heat for three minutes and then add salt and turmeric.
  5. Lower the heat to medium, add yogurt and cook until yogurt is absorbed.
  6. Sprinkle cumen seed powder and remove from heat.
  7. Goes well with rice and/or paratha.
